This web site provides information about the United Kingdom and Ireland chapter of BuildingSMART.

BuildingSMART is created by the industry, for the industry. We are an alliance of organisations within the construction and facilities management sectors dedicated to improving processes within the industry through defining the use and sharing of information.

The current work being carried out by the UKI chapter includes:

• BIM training and Accredited Professional status
• BIM training courses
• COBie training course
• ISO development
• COBie, IFC, IFD and IDM development
• Interfacing with buildingSMART international to tackle the international needs for BIM

Organisations within buildingSMART include architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, facility managers, manufacturers, software vendors, information providers, government agencies, research laboratories, universities and more.
