Electronic Business in Construction - getting more value out of the supply chain?

An open meeting for all strategic thinkers and decision makers involved in Construction, including: Clients; Contractors; Project Managers; Quantity Surveyors; Designers; Software developers, etc. The meeting will be held on Thursday 21 October 2010 (14.00 – 17.00 hours) at BDP, 16 Brewhouse Yard, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 4LJ.

These are relatively difficult times for business, especially those involved in the delivery of construction projects, and the current Government spending review is likely to force the Construction Sector take a fresh look at business processes.

Over the last 7 years an International Group, which includes buildingSMART, has developed a dataset that forms an internationally approved means of transferring and updating information over the life of a building project and to engage Electronic Business across the whole of the Supply Chain. An important use of such Cost Information Models will be within Procurement, where the use of web technologies can link-up, simplify and reduce the overheads of tendering and contract management.
You are invited to attend an Open Meeting to explore and discuss:
  • trends and developments and in ‘Electronic Business’ for construction (public and private sectors)
  • existing best practise in the UK, in Europe, and elsewhere in the World
  • techniques to deliver greater benefits by adoption of ‘new’ leaner processes
  • practical methods to reduce the cost and risk of procurement through adoption of new Electronic Business techniques
The meeting is open to all strategic thinkers and decision makers involved in Construction, including:
Clients; Contractors; Project Managers; Quantity Surveyors; Designers; Software developers, etc.
In tough economic times we need to find new ways to drive better value out of projects in order to:
  • reduce risk;
  • reduce your cost to market; and
  • in turn deliver greater success
so this meeting should be a must for you.

To attend please register with Beryl Garcka before 18 October, either by email: beryl.garcka@b-r-t.co.uk or telephone 020 8660 1631.

There are no attendance charges for this meeting.
